Slow bind and target="_blank"

Hi,

I have 10 <option> elements with each having 160 <select> values. It takes about 2-3 second to fill them up. SQL on the database is executed in no time. If i cooment out
$this['#element'.$i]->bind($rows);
response is normal (fast).
Is there a way to speed this up? $i a counter for loop (1->10). If a make html code within for loop and apply that to the element with ->html() would that be faster?

How can I achieve functionality like target="_blank"?

yeah, this example works quite quick...but can you modify the example so that it will "refill" all select elements with click on a button using ajax?
